Nice Club, lovely people [ mostly ] and a few interesting week-ends to drive to and during while sharing a good hotel at reasonable prices organised by local members [ usually, and if poss. ]. Very helpful Hon Sec. [founder] The Sheppard who started it all 10 years ago [ 2007 ] and is allergic to any "interference", perceived or otherwise, by any member who happens to enquire about contacting an organising member of such events so as to offer some help and guidance, even to the extent of providing false info. Balancing that somewhat is the fact that he is very helpful and obliging if asked to obtain any parts while in the U.K., and generally only charges an even 100 euro, regardless. Regretfully that "Balance Sheet" is weighted a little too far to the debit side [ meaning in the 'red'] with the fact that some members don't acknowledge the true spirit of joining and being in a Classic Car Club, which includes swapping and buying spares, and seem to think that it's OK to rip them off by charging them for parts that are faulty. If you like being a member of this, or any Club, that has such members just be careful and make enquiries first, and then insist on getting and fitting the spares before you pay for them. You have been warned !

Since the above was submitted the said club continues its merry way, while ignoring insults, gripes, disgruntled members, resignations, and dishonest dealings within. Probably don't know any better, but what's it all about but just to get into your old banger [ sorry, vehicle ] and drive on merrily on your way down high-roads and mostly by-roads, while enjoying the views, and the great little country that we live in. Who cares if one of the august subscribers to the idea that this hobby should be shared is upset, disgruntled, and unloved when the sun is shining and the grass needs cutting and all you need is a little rot-box that everybody seems to love, and which tried to give the Mini a run for its money back in the '60s. who gives a damn that such delights need to be shared, and to be nurtured so that we learn a few new tricks to keep the demon rust at bay, not only in our pride and joy but in our bones. It's a long time since appreciation for our ancient forebears was practiced and due respect was paid to their existence, and any wisdom they might have to pass on. Today it only needs a few to realize that all you need is enthusiasm and the will to share what you have with like-minded souls, and don't wake the ancients. They might have something useful to contribute. Lets forget the fact that it has all been done before, and the mistakes made today have already been made before, and wisdom gained. CARRY ON REGARDLESS !
