HECTOR GREY LTD - DUBLIN, IE

I haven't yet been but am going in the next day or so. My boyfriend talks about Hector Grey's fondly, remembering his childhood in Dublin.

Children used to rob marbles, women christmas decorations and Men loved their socks x. It was an Orchard without the apples. Worth robbing. You could sell the gear to your friends.. Drugs were not invented. It was the place to go before going to Moore Street for your bananas. Children could roam around adjoining Henry Street..You could sing on the street for pennies. Everyone loved a Jar. It was the good old days. Families ate sausages, chips and tomato sauce in Woolworths. If you were well off you could afford a 99 ice cream with a flake. Hector Grey was a wonderland with magic in the air. The ornaments were so cheap. I heard my neighbours boozing and breaking ornaments each night. Inthe morning they took the bus to Hector Greys to replace the ornaments. These were the days. The shop is well gone and so are all the happy people who never heard of drugs.
